Gardens Aglow Botanical Gardens
Overnight Trip: Nov. 19-20
Description: Join us on an overnight trip to Boothbay Harbor, Maine to visit one of New England’s favorite light shows!. Beginning on Thursday, November 19, we will depart the community center at 12:00pm and head towards Boothbay Harbor, taking a pit stop about half way to stretch and use the facilities. Once we arrive in Boothbay, we will check into the Flagship Inn. Once everyone is checked into their rooms and settled, we will head to the Boathouse Bistro and have dinner before the Gardens Aglow Exhibit (dinner is not included in the trip fee). Following dinner, it is time to explore the Botanical Gardens! Gardens Aglow features light displays all around the Boothbay peninsula with over 750,000 LED lights bringing sparkling joy for the holidays. The Gardens Aglow route is approximately 1 mile of beautifully lighted pathways through our central garden areas and participants should expect to spend around two hours at the event. Gardens Aglow is an outdoor, walking event. Keep in mind that weather conditions vary greatly along the Maine coast in the winter and Gardens Aglow is primarily an outdoor event. Dress in layers and be aware of the risks of snowy and icy weather—wear warm, sturdy shoes for the outdoor trek. Trolls (Roskva and her baby sister, Lilja) will be decorated and available for photos!
