Description: The Producers is a 1967 American satirical black comedy film written and directed by Mel Brooks, and has been adapted for the stage. The story is about a mild-mannered accountant and a con artist theater producer who scheme to get rich by fraudulently overselling shares in a stage musical designed to fail. To this end, they find a playscript celebrating Adolf Hitler and the Nazis and bring it to the stage. Because of this theme, The Producers was controversial from the start and received mixed reviews. It became a cult film and found a fanatical positive critical reception later.
Registration: Registration begins July 8 for Exeter residents and July 14th for non-residents. Registration is open to Exeter and surrounding towns, on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration accepted at the Exeter Multigenerational Community Center during our business hours, in-person, by phone, on-line or mail. Payment must be paid at the time of registration.

Date & Time: Wednesday, September 9, 2026 - Depart from Exeter Rec at 10 Hampton Rd at 10:45. Approximate return time is 5pm.

Fee: Residents, $100, Non-Residents $110, Registration Fee includes tickets to the show, round trip transportation and lunch at Perkins Cove Kitchen in Ogunquit prior to the show. Please make your check payable to E.P.R.D. Visa, MasterCard, Discover Apple Pay & Google Pay accepted. There will be a $20.00 fee charged for each returned check.

Deadline: The deadline to register for this program is Sept 8, 2026 by 4:30pm or until the trip is sold out.
