EVENT: A feast of Maine lobsters and clams with all the traditional fixin’s await you at Cabbage Island! It’s
been the home of downeast clambakes since 1956, and your hosts, the Moore family cordially welcome you!
Our clambake adventure begins on a Coach Bus to Boothbay, with a scenic tour of Boothbay Harbor aboard the MV Bennie Alice, on the route to Cabbage Island in the Linekin Bay. The clambake is cooked in seaweed, steamed from top to bottom, covered with tarpaulins and rocks in order to capture all the flavor and sweetness of fresh Maine lobsters and clams. A steaming cup of traditional New England fish chowder, two lobsters, tender white steamed clams, corn on the cob, and Maine potatoes are all served. Save room for dessert for their famous Blueberry cake with hot fresh coffee or iced tea. After lunch we’ll jump back on the Bennie Alice, cruising along the picturesque coastline where we may see seals, lighthouses, ospreys, or fisherman checking their traps! There will be an hour or so to check out some of the shops in town before we leave for Exeter. Please note, this is a 3-hour trip to Boothbay Harbor on a coach bus with bathroom on board. Note: For those that do not like lobsters, an oven roasted half chicken is an option.
DATE: The date selected is Wednesday, August 5, 2026. We will depart from Bill Ball Stadium parking at Exeter High School (1 Bluehawk Drive) parking lot at 8:00am and will be returning to Exeter at approximately 8:00pm
FEE: The fee is $120 for residents and $135 for non-residents, which includes your cruise to/from Cabbage
Island, the Downeast Clambake meal, and coach bus transportation.
DEADLINE: The deadline to register is Friday, July 24, 2026 or once the van is sold out. Note: We need a minimum of 40 people registered for this trip. Maximum is 50.
