Wednesday January 21, 2026

EVENT: The Exeter Parks & Recreation Department invites you to join us for a trip to Boston as we visit the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. This is the museum featured in movies depicting the 1990 robbery of over $500 million in paintings that went unsolved for decades. The museum was built in 1898–1901 by Isabella Stewart Gardner (1840–1924), an American art collector, philanthropist, and patron of the arts in the style of a 15thcentury Venetian palace. It opened to the public in 1903. The ISG Museum houses significant examples of European, Asian, and American art. Its collection includes paintings, sculpture, tapestries, and decorative arts. This truly is a museum where you could spend an entire day browsing through their extensive collection of art.
